Giving to the Department of English

Alumni giving to the English Department makes it possible for us to recruit and support new faculty as they develop into experienced teachers and productive scholars.

Our Arch and UGA Foundation accounts, along with the McMullan and Appleby Funds, support research trips, attendance at important conferences, book purchases, or visits to Park Hall by distinguished critics and artists, all of which contributes directly to the educational and intellectual energy of the Department. Each year we recognize graduate and undergraduate student achievement through prizes and scholarships supported by a range of funds often named in honor of former students whose families wished to commemorate the important role that the study of literature played in their lives.

If you wish to direct a gift to one or more specialized funds, please feel free to do so by browsing the list of funds to the left and reading about their varied emphases.

Giving online to the English Department Fund

The single most useful way to help the Department carry out its complex mission is to make a gift to the Arch Foundation English Department Fund -- the unrestricted academic support fund that has the flexibility to complement and enhance almost all the other funds in our Foundation profile. The Development staff of the Franklin College have made giving to this fund convenient through their secure website, which you can access by clicking here.

Giving to other funds

If you are interested in giving to this or any of the other funds associated with the Department of English, please don't hesitate to contact the Department Head.
